Who we are

OBMFL is a proudly Nigerian oil and gas investment and trading company, focused on unlocking the value of Africa’s hydrocarbon resources. We specialize in the strategic acquisition and portfolio management of upstream assets, with a growing presence in the Nigerian marginal field landscape. In parallel, we operate a performance-driven crude oil trading platform, connecting our production and partner offtake to both global and domestic markets.
At our core, we are a value-led, results-focused enterprise that blends commercial discipline with strategic foresight. With deep insight into Nigeria’s regulatory environment and energy potential, we are committed to transforming underutilized resources into long-term prosperity for our investors, communities, and partners.

Our purpose

To unlock Nigeria’s hydrocarbon wealth and transform it into long-term prosperity for communities, stakeholders, and future generations.
Our purpose defines our direction: we believe that Nigeria’s natural resources — when acquired, managed, and commercialized responsibly — can fuel sustainable development. OBMFL exists to invest in, optimize, and monetize upstream oil and gas assets, ensuring each investment delivers enduring value across the economic and social spectrum.
As a company active in both asset investment and crude oil trading, we bridge the upstream and marketing divide. From portfolio development to profit realization, we turn energy into opportunity — strategically, responsibly, and transparently.

Our strategy

Our strategy is rooted in portfolio-led integration — aligning upstream investment with downstream trading capabilities to create a self-sustaining energy value chain.

Upstream Asset Investment & Development

We invest in and manage equity interests in high-potential oil and gas fields, with a strategic focus on marginal and underutilized assets. Our flagship asset, the Emohua Field (PPL 201), is steadily advancing toward first oil. Across our upstream operations, we place strong emphasis on technical development planning, regulatory compliance, and proactive local stakeholder engagement.
Who we are

Crude Oil Trading & Market Optimization

Our trading division serves as the commercial engine of our upstream portfolio. We market crude oil from our own assets while also trading third-party barrels. Leveraging real-time pricing intelligence, structured offtake agreements, and robust risk-mitigation strategies, we ensure value capture across the transaction chain. Our approach prioritizes market responsiveness, supply reliability, and full regulatory compliance in all trade executions.

Strategic Growth & Upstream Expansion

OBMFL is pursuing long-term growth by expanding its upstream asset portfolio through acquisitions, farm-ins, and bid rounds. The company strengthens its operations via partnerships with technical operators and continuously optimizes its portfolio through performance reviews and risk assessments. Non-core assets may be divested or repositioned to improve capital efficiency, all within a strategy focused on scalable, oil-driven value creation.
